La Papeterie Custom Guide

Welcome - You’re engaged! Your dreams are swirling in circles……..searching for that perfect dress, determining your wedding location, and choosing your theme and color palette.

We invite you to let La Papeterie help you pull together all your dreams and details to create a wedding invitation that uniquely reflects your style. It’s a creative process that we find exhilarating in sharing your joy.

Traditional or playful, sophisticated or whimsical, contemporary or quaint – whatever your wedding vision, La Papeterie will translate your concept into a bespoken treasure to set the perfect style and tone for your event.

Congratualtions!
Love is a decision not an emotion or feeling, that if made from the heart, will outlast anything……

Getting Started

The creation of your wedding invitations begins with a consultation by phone, email or in person that will last approximately one hour. A $50 non-refundable fee will be charged for this service. However, if you decide to proceed with La Papeterie, this fee will be applied toward your balance.

The goal during this consultation is to find out all about you and your wedding vision. The more details you can provide us, including photos of your dress, flowers, cake, and wedding location and a description of your likes and dislikes, hobbies, color theme, the better for us to understand your objectives. Even the story of how you and your fiancé met and what interests you both share are of great help in putting together the perfect invitation. Visual inspiration is wonderful too!

At this time, we will also want to know what stationery items you will be ordering and how many of each item you will need. We can help you determine amounts once we know about how many guests you plan to invite.

Trouseau Essentials

Love is like the sun coming out of the clouds
and warming your soul.
Time is everything…

When to Start and When to Mail

Save-the-dates generally should be mailed about 5-10 months prior to the wedding date. 5-7 months is suggested for weddings with few out-of-town guests. 7-10 months is suggested for lots of out-of-town guests or destination weddings. Wedding invitations should be mailed out about 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding date. 8-10 weeks is suggested for lots of out-of-town guests or destination weddings.

As for when to begin, it’s always better to have more time than not enough. For custom invitations or save-the-dates, 4 months prior to your mail date is an ideal time to start the design process.

Love is friendship set on fire.

Invitation Pricing

At La Papeterie, we pride ourselves on creating custom invitations that are perfect compliments to your wedding. When designing your unique invitation, we take into consideration every element about your wedding, as well as your personal story of union. Therefore, pricing is also unique.

Based upon the complexity of your design, as well as printing costs, Letterpress designs begin at $2,200 for 100 invitation sets and $1,000 for 100 save-the-dates. You will be given an estimate after your official design consultation.

We also offer Flat Printing as a more affordable option. In addition, if you prefer engraving, is available. And, an original Calligraphy piece is always a thoughtful option.

All pricing quotes do not include tax or shipping.

To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.

Choosing La Papeterie

About two weeks after your consultation, you will be sent an e-mailed PDF contract with pricing based on your invitation design concept. Once the contract has been reviewed and approved, please sign and return it to La Papeterie. We welcome your comments and will happily make changes to this proposal if necessary.

Before any design work can begin, it is necessary for us to receive your signed contract with a 50 percent deposit, payable by Pay Pal, check or money order.

Marriage is not a ritual or an end.
It is a long, intricate, intimate dance together.
The Work Begins…..

Designing Your Invitation

Once we have received your signed contract and deposit, the design process will begin!
During this time, we will be in regular contact with you about wording and any other design ideas we might have. The complete design process will depend on the intricacy of your design and size of your order. Expect delivery of your invitations to take about four months, however, we can accommodate most schedules. Rush orders can be accommodated at an extra cost.

The first draft of your design will be e-mailed in a color PDF to you. We will present 2 to 3 invitation designs for your review. The colors, paper and printing process will be outlined as well. This is your opportunity to make any edits or additional design changes. You may send your comments via e-mail or we can discuss them over the phone. We prefer changes be sent via e-mail or fax as it allows for less revision errors.

Once we have incorporated your modifications, we will e-mail you a second PDF file to approve or edit.

A final draft will then be sent for approval for any last minor edits or changes. At this time, you must “sign off” on the final draft by faxing your approval to us with your signature on each page of the designs. Any changes beyond these two editing rounds will cost $75 each.

What a grand thing, to be loved!
What a grander thing still, to love!

Proofing- Of Great Importance

Please – very carefully – proof your design files during every step of the design process. Once you have given your final written approval of your design, La Papeterie is not responsible for formatting and/or typographical errors on the final product. All errors, including spelling, punctuation, layout, format and typestyle, are the full responsibility of the client. No exceptions. If you should choose to reprint due to errors of any kind, you are responsible for 100 percent of the reprint, reproduction, and labor costs.

Real love stories never have endings.

Cancellation Agreement

If you should cancel this agreement before production begins, La Papeterie will retain the 50 percent deposit.

If you should cancel this agreement after production begins, La Papeterie will retain 100 percent of the contract.

When you love someone,
all your saved-up wishes start coming out.
